Halloween Havoc is in the books - and we're LIVE in Dayton, Ohio for another edition of WCW Monday Nitro! ERIC BISCHOFF, BOBBY HEENAN, MONGO MCMICHAEL, and PEPE THE WITCH welcome us to the show. They promise footage from last night's Halloween Havoc, so DO NOT change that channel! Also - Randy Savage is not here due to the attacks sustained from the Dungeon Of Doom, so Eddie Guerrero will be taking his place in his scheduled match.

SERGEANT CRAIG PITTMAN vs. EDDIE GUERRERO

Is it just me - or does Pittman resemble "Bubba" from the movie Forrest Gump? Pittman takes Eddie down with a spinning spinebuster, and follows with a front slam. Guerrero comes back with a fallaway slam - but gets beaten right back down by Pittman. Pittman drives his knees into Eddie's midsection and applies a hammerlock. Eddie makes the ropes to break the hold, and chops away. Bischoff makes mention of the first ever World War 3 battle royal - coming at some point in November, where 60 men will do battle in 3 rings. Eddie with a dropkick for 2. Pittman won't allow the momentum to continue and clotheslines Eddie. Guerrero comes back with a European uppercut, but blind charges the corner, misses Pittman, who rolls him up and gets a 1. Pittman clubs away, and works various arm submissions. Pittman with an overhead belly to belly for 2! Pittman hits several shoulder blocks, but Guerrero kicks him to the mat. Springboard crossbody gets a 2! Pittman hits another overhead belly to belly for 2. Doctor bomb from Pittman!! That should be it, and he sets Guerrero up for Code Red, except Eddie rolls through, holds on and gets 3!!! (5:31) **1/4 That was likely Pittman's best match. Oh well, there's always the shrimping business.

This portion of Nitro was brought to you by Milky Way. Smooth out.

Back on the September 11 edition of Nitro, Scott Norton and Randy Savage had a match - where interference from Shark inadvertently cost Norton the match. Afterwards, there was some shoving. Then last week a fight erupted between the two backstage, which leads to tonight.

SHARK vs. SCOTT NORTON

Bobby Heenan has apparently vanished off the face of the planet since the commercial break. The big boys lock up - and Shark drives Norton back to the corner. Belly to belly suplex from Shark hits, and he follows with an elbowdrop for 2. Norton stands and hits a series of clotheslines, but he can't take Shark off his feet. So he goes up and hits a flying shoulderblock from the top, which staggers him and the big man powerslams Shark!!! 1, 2, Shark somehow kicks out. Norton comes off the ropes and they hit eachother with clotheslines.

Meanwhile - we've found BOBBY HEENAN. He's seated with SONNY ONOO again, like last night - enjoying some fine Japanese food.

Back to the match, Norton's knocked Shark out of the ring and heads out where both men club at eachother. Norton gets sent to the ringpost shoulder first, but comes back and sends Shark into the guardrail. They're counted out. (2:47) 3/4* Energetic little brawl! And it's not over as Norton and Shark throw eachother into the Nitro set.

Back at the Japanese buffet, Onoo hands Heenan an envelope - and they shake hands and drink to something.

TONY SCHIAVONE has stolen Gene Okerlund's job. He presents some footage from last night's Arn/Pillman vs. Sting/Flair match, showing the beating Sting took before Flair showed up. When he managed to tag in Flair, all three of them beat him down. That brings us to our guests now, RIC FLAIR, ARN ANDERSON, and BRIAN PILLMAN. The fans can't decide if they want to boo Flair out of the building or "woooo!" all night, so they opt for both. Pillman gloats about the beating they delivered to Sting, and states they're one step closer to THIS, and flashes the 4. He and Flair embrace. Arn says everyone was asking him when they were gonna put THIS, the 4, back together? He says be careful what you wish for, you just might get it. There's 3, and soon there will be 4. Flair says it feels good, and gets a 50/50 reaction, both quite loud. "We're back! And whether you like or don't like it - learn, by god, because it's the best thing going today! Sting, you're like a lot of women we deal with every day. We tell you what you want to hear!" Ouch… "If you don't like it, if your friends don't like it, next Monday night on Nitro, the Horsemen will be in town, ready to go to work! WOOOOOOO!"

Promotional consideration paid for by Crossfire, Big A Auto Parts, and Croissant Pockets - brought to you by Hot Pockets! Whadda ya gonna pick?

This Saturday night, Alex Wright takes on Chris Benoit, Ric Flair and Arn Anderson will face the Renegade and Cobra, tag-team champions Harlem Heat get a piece of Steve Regal and the Earl Of Eaton - and more!

SABU vs. DISCO INFERNO

Sabu lunges at Disco while he's still dancing in his opening, and Disco smoothly sidesteps and continues to boogie. He does it again while we get a good look at his tights that read "Monday Night Fever". Sabu's had enough and decks him, followed with a springboard back elbow. Springboard dropkick from the top hits, and gets a 2 count. Disco comes back with a hairtoss, and hits a second one. A clothesline runs over Sabu and Disco dances. Disco chokes out Sabu on the ropes - then pulls them back sending him across the ring. Clubbering forarms from Disco connect. Disco misses the blind charge and gets hit with a slingshot senton for 3! (2:25) *1/4

Post-match Sabu launches Disco out of the ring, tries a slingshot rana to the floor, but sits on his head in error and knocks him down anyway. Sabu heads back to the locker room while Disco checks his hair - but re-emerges with a table in his hands and throws it at Disco! It's set up at ringside and then Disco is laid out on the table. Sabu heads back into the ring and tries a slingshot senton…but Disco moves - and the table only HALF breaks. (This was when WCW used real tables as opposed to the ones you see now.) Disco gets the right idea and beats it to the back before Sabu can follow up.

Here's a look at some real ugly kids in the front row.

LEX LUGER and MENG (with Jimmy Hart and Kevin Sullivan) vs. THE AMERICAN MALES

Scotty Riggs and Meng start. Meng works in the martial arts, and we take a commercial break already!

WCW Main Event trading cards are available in stores everywhere… "SUCKA!!!" adds Booker T.

Promotional consideration paid for by Slim Jim - SNAP INTO IT, Demolition Man: The Video Game, Remington Triple Foil (for those of you old enough to shave), and Spawn: The Video Game.

Coming up after Nitro: Halloween III. No smartass comment from Mongo.

Luger and Bagwell are in the ring - and Riggs hits a double axehandle from the top. Riggs pulls away at Luger's arm and brings back Bagwell to get in some shots. Armdrag from Bagwell, and he drops a leg down on the arm. Riggs hits another double axehandle off the top, but now Luger's ready to start the comeback. He charges Riggs in the corner who delivers two big boots to stop him! Riggs throws the rights and dropkicks Luger on the ropes! A backdrop gets 2. Bagwell accidentally distracts the referee, allowing Meng to bearhug Riggs while Luger gives him a clothesline. Luger kicks Riggs in the midsection, and drops him throat first over the top rope. Meng is tagged in to stomp away. A clothesline knocks Riggs back to the mat again, and Meng continues to stomp at the back of Riggs' neck. Meng hits a backbreaker, holds Riggs hostage - and Luger comes off the middle rope with a double axehandle to Riggs' face. Luger whips him into the rope - but Riggs sunset flips Luger for 2! Luger comes back with a clothesline, and Meng gets in with the chops and punches. Scoop slam from Meng - but a standing senton misses! You read that right, MENG tried the senton. Luger tries to keep Riggs from making a tag, but he's too quick and in comes Bagwell. Back elbow drops him - as do 3 clotheslines that follow. Bagwell backdrops Luger, but gets caught in Luger's arms trying a crossbody. Riggs dropkicks Bagwell from that position, dropping him onto Luger!!! The referee is distracted with Jimmy Hart though, and Meng gets in to superkick everyone in sight. From there, a Torture Rack is all that's required, and Bagwell gives it up. (7:50) *1/2

This portion of Nitro is brought to you by 1-800-COLLECT - call somebody who cares.

Back to the commentary booth - ERIC BISCHOFF reminds us to trick-or-treat responsibly. MONGO sprays down BOBBY HEENAN with silly string, who sells it by coughing up a lung.

Here's that footage from last night's we're promised. We come in at the legdrop, and Jimmy Hart hitting the referee. From there, you've already read the rest in the Havoc recap.

Back to tonight, TONY SCHIAVONE stands with THE DUNGEON OF DOOM. The Giant poses with the World Title belt, which Schiavone says isn't his. Jimmy Hart claims to be the evil that was living in Hogan's house, and says he's always been Kevin Sullivan's manager. Luger's all smiles about the night while Sullivan emulates Hogan lying dead in the ring. The Giant says nobody's going to knock him off the hill - and he'll be defending the title against anybody this coming Monday night. And Tony signs us off from there!

Interesting little evening of action… With the belt off Hogan after a year and a half, things were finally starting to look up for WCW. More to come!
